Pumps for the suction and transfer of the release agent and lubricant for moulds die casting.

Release agent pumping, a different approach.release agent pump for die casting

A company belong to an important group operating in the production of die castings in aluminum, needed a rational system for the management and recovery of the release agent, and lubricants used in the steps of molding the cast components. Each machine has a collection tank that of a few centimeters in height size, however, may contain several hundreds of liters of contaminated feed materials to be recovered and treated. Each tank was equipped with a submersible pump of the conventional type. Of course, because the height of the collection tank is of a few centimeters, were used submersible pumps for clean water to obtain a suction level as low as possible, obviously, hydraulics of such pumps, is not suitable for the transfer of contaminated fluids and with solid substances in suspension. In addition, the pump worked most of the time with the engine in the air without cooling. This situation has caused the inevitable destruction of a large number of submersible pumps. The increasing costs and the continuous functional uncertainties have made necessary the total rethink of the process of recovery and treatment of the release agent.

Among the various solutions available, was chosen to produce a new plant which involved the use of a Pump Hose Carrier HCP 5.0 that sucks in a centralized manner by a suitable collector provided with pipes arranged in each collection tank, the large capacity of the pump suction hose carrier HCP 5.0 would have produced the vacuum inside the collector every time is necessary to empty the tub, it would have sufficed to open the appropriate valve arranged. The plant was built on the occasion of the summer stop and is regularly entered in function to the reopening of the productive activity. The solution adopted has produced immediately significant positive effects. Not only the Pump Hose Carrier HCP 5.0 was able to produce a great suction effect, but thus made possible to aspirate the solid suspensions present in the release agent that for their nature is not possible to deal with submersible pumps. Of course the Hose Carrier pump is not affected by a possible dry operation or discontinuous. We would also point out that between the aspiration point , and the point where is located the pump, there is a distance of over 150 meters and six meters of altitude. The cost of the management of the pump is a tubular membrane per year, really negligible.

On the occasion of a definitive rethinking of the implant, verified on the field the validity of the solution chosen, were introduced some practical automations to the system of the manifolds in suction. The Pump Hose Carrier HCP 5.0 has been replaced with the largest HCP 6.5 with variable speed equipped with integrated inverter with automation provided for the final implant for release agent.

The “old” HCP 5.0, is now placed to the treatment plant of the separating fluid in the implementation phase, and the recovery and the transfer of the muddy substances produced during the manufacturing process.

Pumps Hose Carrier for oil and dissolved fat of bakery

Suction of dissolved fat and oils.

pumps dissolved fat oilsThis application is rather singular, pumping dissolved fat and oils. A food company specialized in bakery on industrial scale, has the need to collect the fluids arising from operations of cooking of foods made of meat. The fluid that is generated is largely composed of animal dissolved fat and oils, solid formations deriving from the cooking process. The fluid is collected in trays rather wide but of a few centimeters in height. The amount of fluid that collects for each process is relatively low but still in the order of 1500-2000 liters for “baked”.

The difficulty of process consists in the aspiration of fluid mass with relative solid suspension, whereas having to do that at an optimal temperature pointed to maintain fluidity status. The operation must be carried out quickly and occurs by inserting the pump intake pipe equipped with a suitable terminal designed to drain the maximum possible in various points of  collection tank. The fluid is then accumulated in tanks and repositioned for energy purposes. The company attended to perform the recovery and transfer operation  manually using containers self-purpose built, but obviously in a very long time.

In a first time was used a peristaltic pump HCP 25 to perform the operation of the suction of the oil and grease dissolved. Verified the validity of the solution applied, the company has subsequently purchased a new peristaltic pump of greater dimension in such a way to be able to solve the problem of the recovery of substances arising from seasonal peaks of production, a peristaltic pump HCP 40 is added to the previous HCP 25 already in use.

The company now has a couple of machines perfectly sized for the productive needs, ordinary and extraordinary, and resolved quickly and clean the problem of oils and fats dissolved suction, with heterogeneous suspensions resulting from rotisserie processes.

Peristaltic Pumps Hose Carrier for leachate (percolate) aspiration.

Leachate suction pump

peristaltic pump for leachateAn important group engaged in the environmental sector, manages a landfill of solid non-hazardous, leachate or percolate is one of products deriving from the accumulation. The leachate is generated in a natural way by the crossing of rainfall through the layer of waste present in landfills, the result is a fluid from the characteristics extremely polluting, and therefore must be picked up and treated on site by means of a appropriate purification process .

There are different systems for leachate suction, some bore hole submersible pumps inserted in appropriate wells, other systems provide surface self-priming peristaltic pumps  able to aspirate the fluid from the surface. The landfill was designed considering not to apply submersible pumps  type to avoid  maintenance substantial costs in failure or malfunction. In previous experiences it is noticed that whenever it is necessary the maintenance of the submersed pump, it is necessary to remove virtually all installation, raising the pump through its pipe by expensive equipment and specialized personnel.

Leachate has a chemical aggressiveness of a certain importance, variable over time, and is able to put out of order the submersible pumps in short times. In principle are also used for the percolate, pumps designed for clean water or with small modifications of adaptation to percolate , but that, as it was found, do not guarantee duration in time acceptable.

Maintenance and replacement operations are very expensive because they require disassembly total line in the well, as well as the use of suitable equipment such as cranes and lorries, transfers and interventions in specialised workshops with technical staff at high cost. The plant of the landfill was consequently designed for use surface peristaltic pumps, through the realisation of a crowning achievement of picking stations with negative leaf not deep over eight meters.

Peristaltic pump easy solution for percolate.

Various Peristaltic Pumps HCP 50 have been installed to suck the leachate directly from the surface. The high vacuum produced by the peristaltic pump and full compatibility of the machine to chemical aggression in addition to the total insensitivity to dry running, has allowed the achievement full both the targets, operational and economic. The individual pumping stations manitenance cost provides only the replacement of peristaltic hose (once every 2 years). The replacement takes place in the site, quickly, with no  additional costs for operation (an hour) with internal staff at the management company.

The on-site maintenance occurs without remove piping but acting only and exclusively on ground surface, away from the contaminant. The management company has spoken in a very positive manner on the peristaltic pump solution adopted, and proposes the purchase of new peristaltic pump for extensions and other future projects.
